Axl Rose’s New Year’s tires (13th)

What a week it has been, as the Rock ‘n’ Roll giants, Guns and Roses, kick started their Canadian leg of the tour in 2010. But what startled everyone the most was not the long anticipated performance, but Axl Rose himself when he walked onto the stage. The singer probably had a great Christmas and a New Years Eve, because the Axl Rose who performed three weeks ago in Tokyo, ending the Asian Leg of the GnR tour, had managed to multiply his waistline twofold in just the 3 weeks.

The first show for the Canadian leg kicked start with an amazing response in the MTS Center in front of 7500 fans. Although the crowd was much less than in the Japanese shows, the fans were treated with a three hour set, including performances of GnR classics. The Canadian leg of the tour is scheduled to end in March.

Coldplay sued, Again!(14th)

If there ever was a band that has had enough people picking on them this decade, it has been Coldplay.

After the controversy created by Cat Stevens, Joe Satriani and an Indie band blaming Coldplay for allegedly replicating their songs, the band goes through another phase of allegations when an unknown singer sued the band this week, for “replicating” his music for the songs “Trouble” “Yellow” and “Clocks.” The musician, named Sammie Lee Smith, claims that he produced these songs three decades ago.

Dave Collins shoots his big toe off!(13th)

The now toe-less Dave Collins

Dave Collins, the front man of Weedeater, seems to have not realized that “shooting yourself in the foot” is just a figure of speech. This unbelievably revealing fact was surfaced when the front man literally shot his big toe off this week by accident, while cleaning his shotgun. The band’s MySpace post reads the following;

“As most of you know, here in the Weedeater camp we pride ourselves on a long tradition of shooting our band in the proverbial foot right before we’re supposed to do something important. Whether it’s a big tour, a recording session, or whatever else we’re supposed to do, invariably we will find some way to try and thwart our grandiose plans. Well, it’s no different for this recording session, except that this time we really did shoot ourselves in the foot. In fact we regret to inform all of you that this weekend, Dixie Dave shot his big toe off whilst cleaning his favorite shotgun. Yup, that’s right”

The band is in the process of recording their new album with plans to release it this year, and this will postpone the release that was scheduled for March. The eagerly awaiting fans of Weedeater pray that the band doesn’t get their hands on any weapons from now on, at least until after recording the album.

    What ever Axl does, the man sings like hell. If he isn’t drunk that is.
