Megadeth to re-unite with Dave Ellefson
Dave Mustaine, in an update on Megadeth’s official website, confirmed Megadeth’s re-union with their original bassist Dave Ellefson. After a jam with old band mates, Ellefson had agreed to join Megadeth once again for the Rust in Peace tour, and possibly for longer. Megadeth is set to play for this year’s Download fest, celebrating 30 years of Donington Park in Derby, as the home of Metal.
Air Force swipe The White Stripes’ song for recruitment commercial
Last week, The Wight Stripes and their management threatened to take strict legal action against the Air Force for the recruitment commercial that ran during the Super Bowl last week. The commercial’s theme song resembled the melody of The White Stripe’s song “Fell in Love With a Girl”, and the band claimed that the Air Force did not receive the bands permission to use their tune in any way.
The day following the band’s press release, the composer of the music for the commercial took complete responsibility of the situation saying it was his fault alone. He also, in a statement to the New York Times, insisted that he had never heard “Fell in Love With a Girl” before.
Axl reacts to rumors of him banning Slash merchandise from GnR concerts.
Axl has a thing with Slash, and the whole world knows about it. But did Axl go to the extent of banning Slash merchandise from GnR concerts? Well, that’s what one fan says. And that’s what he claimed when he wrote on the mygnrforum.com, saying he knew the phone number of a security guard who had asked a fan to wear his “Slash” t-shirt inside-out before going in to a GnR concert. The poster claimed that the guard had said that he got orders from the band to ban all slash merchandise from the concert. That post was enough for Axl to loose his temper (we all know how hard it is to piss him off). Axl, under his fourum name “Dexter” had posted a furious reply on the thread.
“What the fuck do you know? That’s right! You don’t know jack fucking shit you fucking ignorant, know it all, fucking deluded, misguided, self important, self righteous, pious, small minded, clueless, loud mouthed, arrogant ****. No one needs your opinions n’ having to deal with your constant abuse of privileges or the miniscule amount of power you’ve had here you wield like an angry, *******, wannabe, high school parking lot rent-a-cop always mouthing off like you’re some kind of authority which you’re far from…”

The assumption is that this is just a roumor targeted to fire Axl up one more time. And whoever spread this has succeeded to do so.
