The world of metal is famous for many, many things. However, one of the things it is not entirely famous for is for having a plethora of good looking men. This article is here to prove otherwise; after searching high and low I managed to wrangle 10 of the best looking men in metal today. Some that are the pretty boys of metal and of course some for those with a more adventurous, idiosyncratic taste.

10. Dani Filth

He is the lyricist, vocalist and founding member of the British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. Born on the 25^th July 1973 and otherwise known as Daniel Lloyd Davey is one to keep an eye out for if you like the sound of cracking whips, demonic screeches and boundless amounts of BDSM. Nothing but submission is an option with this man. An absolute delight to the eyes and ears of those with a more ‘unconventional’ taste in men and a personal favourite to say the least, Filth is a great source of entertainment musically, lyrically… and otherwise. His intriguing dress sense, makeup and ever changing hairstyles have made him a rather large style icon. His personal interests include reading, writing, watching scary movies, shopping, partying and the likes – a rather ‘normal’ list for someone with an appearance such as his. The only let down in the looks department is his height which at 5’5 is short to say the least… but then again you know what they say about short men and how they make up for their height with other things.

9. David Scott Mustaine

Legendary singer, song writer, lead and rhythm guitarist Dave Mustaine of Megadeath born in September 13, 1961 in La Mesa, California USA certainly needs no introduction or reason as to why he should be on this list. Up there with the legends of metal this man happens to also be gifted in the looks department. Fronting the band since its inception and the former lead guitarist of Metallica, Dave Mustaine has made the ladies and men who like to take a walk on the wild side swoon for years, and will do so for years to come. His band has sold over 20 million albums world wide and continues to be one of the most popular and influential bands in metal.

8. Chris Broderick

Broderick, born March 6, 1970 in Lakewood, Colorado, USA, is the current lead guitarist for the American thrash metal band Megadeth. His list of his previous bands includes the likes of Jag Panzer and Nevermore. Chris is blessed in so many ways; a notably great guitar player, pianist and violinist, and gifted with a set of luscious lips and a body to die for. He truly is one of those to keep an eye on, for his absolute skill if for nothing else, and is an all round great performer to both the ears and the eyes.

7. Daniel John Erlandsson

Born 22 May 1976 in Malmö, Sweden Erlandsson is more than just a pretty face; he also proves to be quite the magician at his kit which compromises of a combination of Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals. His aptitude at what he does is witnessed through his current band Arch Enemy’s music. Daniel has also been a drummer for one of ‘In Flames’ albums titled ‘Subterranean’ and is currently playing reunion shows for ‘Carcass’. He has an older brother Adrian who is not too shabby in the looks department himself who also happens to be a drummer who has played for the likes of ‘Cradle of Filth’, ‘At the Gates’, ‘The Haunted’, ‘Needleye’ and with his two current bands ‘Netherbird’ and ‘Brujeria’.

6. Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho

Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho, born April 8, 1979 is a Finnish singer, composer and guitarist. Generally known as one of the hotter boys in metal, this talented guitarist certainly knows how to work his way along a fret board. He was ranked among the top 50 fastest guitarists of the world by Guitar World Magazine and has been endorsed by ESP guitars which subsequently released a line of Alexi Laiho signature models. I’m guessing he isn’t called ‘wildchild’ for nothing and if he can work his fingers as masterfully as he does on guitar on a woman then he definitely deserves a place on this list don’t you think?

5. Philip Hansen “Phil” Anselmo

Definitely a cowboy from hell that you would wanna ride with – or just ride, Phil Anselmo is one of metal’s finest and most recognized vocalists, with his quirky hair and crazy reputation he certainly is someone who is always entertaining to watch. With endless amounts of energy his stage presence is always compelling. Born June 30, 1968 in New Orleans, Louisiana this boy from the Deep South is more than just fucking hostile, and imaginably his libido must be through the roof. Oozing sexuality Phil in all his active glory is certainly a worthy adversary for the other men on this list.

4. Shagrath

Another man for those with an acquired or should I say twisted taste. Shagrath belongs on this list more than you ladies (and gents) out there would think. Sure at first glance he’s a little rough around the edges (and some of us like it that way) but take a look at him without his corpse paint and those of you with a more conventional taste tell me if you still think he isn’t good looking? Born Stian Tomt Thoresen on 18 November 1976

This front man of Norwegian black metal band Dimmu Borgir with his deep growling vocals and love of satanic imagery also happens to be quite the ladies man.

3. Kiko Loureiro

Otherwise known as Pedro Henrique Loureiro, born on June 16, 1972 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is a guitarist who has worked with bands such as Angra, Silent Moon, and Blezqi Zatzas. He has also played for the likes of Satriani, Malmsteen, Steve Harris, Tarja Turunen and more.  Kiko proves to be quite the cutie, he also happens to be able to speak several different languages including French and Japanese. Thus multilingual, multitalented, and a beautiful boy from Brazil he fills out quite the check list.

2. Sebastian Bach

Sebastian Philip Bierk, born on April 3, 1968 is a Canadian heavy metal singer, best known as the ex front man of Skid Row. He is also known for his hair metal history, and with hair like that we wouldn’t be surprised! Not only does he posses some insanely gorgeous looks but he also has an absolutely amazing vocal prowess- a rather sexy combination. However do any of you know his dirty little secret? I too was shocked when I found out that he has guest-starred several times in that clichéd T.V series known as the ‘Gilmore Girls’- ouch. However without letting that cloud our judgement, he really was a total hottie in his time and definitely deserves a place on this list!

1. Devin Garret Townsend

Born May 5, 1972 Townsend is a Canadian musician and record producer, and is also the founder, songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist of the extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad. And my dears Devin is on this list today to remind us what metal truly is about; yes ladies and gents THE MUSIC. One of the things I can proudly say is that no matter how fucking ugly you are you can make it in metal if you’ve got the skills! Unlike most other genres Metal is all about the music! And the fact that I would still boink Mr. Townsend simply for being the musical genius that he is despite his hideous face should further prove the brilliance that is indeed METAL!
