The Devil’s Steed – an Intro

148670618_47959141b2A couple of days back when I was on facebook, killing someone or repelling a gang of yakuza on mafia wars, I saw that an old school friend was online; none other than one of the ever so charming and astoundingly sexy Editors of the backdoor. So like an old school chum should, I started chatting with him.

After a while (this is the part where he got to know that I write car reviews and read some of the stuff that I wrote) he asked me whether I would like to write for The Backdoor.

At this point I was overwhelmed with the fact that I could finally write about cars for a publication, so I popped the question “what sort of cars do you want me to write about?”

The answer that he gave horrified me. “Bro I want you to write about Rock & Roll.”

I must say that I was a bit unsure at this time. I’ve always wanted to be a journalist, but I wanted to be an automotive journalist.

Then it hit me, I can write about the rides that the rock stars use. I told this idea to the said charming and sexy Editor and he too was intrigued with this idea, mainly because this is a part o a rock stars life that no one really talks about.

So through the next few weeks we will be talking about the rides that Malmsteen, Paul McCartney, James Hetfeld and others like them use and fantasies about. May be it might be that same things that you like, or it might be a self reflection of there lives, or they might be using some thing that is miles and miles apart from there rock star lives. Who knows? To find out subscribe and stay tuned for the next installment of your favorite Rock and Roll automobile column ‘The Devil’s Steed.’
