The Scorpions Are No More
The Scorpions are no more.
The Scorpions officially announced their retirement last week. The news has been a huge blow to metal fans all over the world. There will be one less Metal Giant in the world after this year’s Scorpions world tour. The band’s message to fans read the following;
It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you – whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.
While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.
We want you, our fans, to be the first to know about this. Thank you for your never-ending support throughout the years!
We uploaded the very first snippets from our new album for you.
And now… let’s get the party started and get ready for a “Sting in the Tail”!
See you on the world tour,
Yours
Scorpions
This year completes 45 years for the band’s existence, and the 45 years have been a rollercoaster ride of great music, for the Scorpions and their fans.
120 Arrested at Metallica concert.
Around 120 people were arrested by the Chilean police, when riots stirred during a Metallica concert held at Santiago on the 26th. Hundreds of people had tried to enter the concert without tickets which had forced the police to resort to severe action. The individuals arrested have been charged with possession of drugs, disorderly conduct and public drinking.
SOAD to reunite?
After the twitter update made by SOAD bassist, there lit a spark of hope in System of A Down fans that the band will reunite to perform again. Hopefully at Download, since the festival was yet to announce the line up for this year’s fest. Shavo Odadjian’s update read “Are you guys ready for System??” on the 12th this month which stirred such a hype in fans. Shavo, later, unsuccessfully, tried to cover up the damage done but by that time it was too late.
Yes! It would have been great, but Serj Tanakian last week confirmed that System have not yet decided to perform again, as opposed to the rumors that have spread last week again about a SOAD re-union.

the world will never be the same without the sting of the scorpions…:(
